The HERE Conference was founded by Geospatial Experience Specialists, Spencer & Marks Inc in 2008 and acquired by Mindgrub Technologies in 2009. The concept of the HERE Conference came from the need for experts in various industries to come together and discuss the issues and advancements in location based services. Specifically the HERE conference focuses on the location based experiencs - interactive mobile websites and applications that are effected by location, filters and user preferences.

Spencer & Marks Inc. is the combined brainchild of William Spencer, President of Tactic9 and Todd Marks, President of Mindgrub. Spencer and Marks are renowned experts, speakers and authors in the fields of multimedia, rich website and portal development and location based services. In 2005, Spencer & Marks incorporated to focus on the rapidly evolving world of web 2.0 technologies and location based services by releasing their first product, viaPlace (www.viaplace.com). viaPlace began with a simple idea to offer people on the go a learning experience through the convenience of their mobile device. The concept is simple; once you get somewhere, what’s around you? Our product not only lets users associate a set of information with a registered location, but also provides that information to one or more end-users via their mobile devices.
